FPO formation and promotion
Agriculture sector plays a very important role in both economic development and Nation building. India is globally in the forefront of development of agriculture. The goal is to achieve the increase in the income of farmers. More than 86% of farmers in the country are small and marginal. Government of India has launched a new Central Sector Scheme titled "Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Produce Organizations (FPOs)".
Divine International Foundation is working as a Cluster Based Business Organization (CBBO) to aggregate, register and provide professional handholding support to each FPO for a period of 5 years, empanelled and engaged by IAs (NAFED and SFAC), in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.
The organization has successfully registered 18 FPOs till now. Several trainings and workshops were organized to support and promote FPOs consisting of more than 5500 farmers. Divine International Foundation is supporting FPOs and farmers to produce better quality commodity, to create effective market linkage and enhance economic strength.
Kisan Mela at Champawat
To encourage farmers in Champawat district of Uttarakhand, a Kisan Mela was organized by Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji, in which local products were displayed by stalls of local and departmental aided cooperatives and companies. In this mela CBBO Divine International Foundation FPO Goljuy FPC set up an exhibition of vegetable products, which was inspected by the Hon'ble Chief Minister himself.
He appreciated the work being done in Champawat district under the Prime Minister's dream project 10000 FPO Formation and Promotion, and emphasized on providing maximum benefit to the small and marginal farmers through the project.
