Nisha
Her village lies in the core area of Rajaji National Park. She trained as a Retail Sales Associate under DDU-GKY and now works at Big Bazaar, Dehradun.
Nisha belongs to a BPL family of Bukhandi in Pauri Garhwal. The village is situated in the core area of Rajaji National Park and does not even have a path for connectivity. The yearly income of the parental household was Rs. 24,000, earned from seasonal farming, and her prior educational qualification was Intermediate.
She completed a course in Retail Sales Associate from Divine International Foundation, Pauri Garhwal, under DDU-GKY. She is currently working as a Customer Sales Associate in Big Bazaar, Dehradun. She had joined on 8000 per month and is now getting 12000 per month.
The foundation records her case as a visible transformation due to the DDU-GKY intervention. She is now independent and self reliant.
In her own words, she is growing in her career and has gained much confidence to stand for herself and for her dependants, which was not possible even in a dream for her earlier. She thanks Divine for the opportunity to take training under the DDU-GKY scheme and for making her capable of taking care of her family.
